MCE OF YKMA CUTS SOD FOR THE CONSTRUCTION OF MULTIPLE PROJECTS

On Wednesday January 21,2026, the MCE of YKMA, Hon. Francis Addo Akumatey, together with the MP for Yilo Krobo Constituency, Hon. Albert Tetteh Nyakotey, and some key stakeholders of the Municipality cut sod at seven(7) communities for the construction multiple projects.
Below are the projects:
▶️Two(2) classroom block with office, store, Canteen, and washroom for Korboe Okumka M/A School, Somanya.
▶️CHPS Compound at Brukum Maumi.
▶️Mechanized borehole with water treatment plant and overhead tank at Tsotsunya.
▶️Mechanized borehole with water treatment plant and overhead tank at Wurapong Osu.
▶️Mechanized borehole with water treatment plant and overhead tank at Aboabo M/A School.
▶️Mechanized borehole with water treatment plant and overhead tank at Nkurakan Clinic, Nkurakan.
▶️Mechanized borehole with water treatment plant and overhead tank at Akpamu Health Centre, Akpamu.
The contractors assured the MP, the MCE, and the residents that the duration for the completion of the boreholes is four(4) months, and six(6) months for both the CHPS Compound and the KG block.
Both the MP and the MCE entreated the residents to motivate and fully cooperate with the contractors and their workers. They continued that residents should channel their misunderstanding or grievances which will arise as a result of construction of these projects to their Dade Mantse, assmebly members or better still come to the MCE
The residents expressed their overwhelming appreciation to the government for bringing potable water to their doorsteps.
