EVACUATION OF SRA REFUSE DUMP

From 5th to 6th July 2026, the Yilo Krobo Municipal Assembly carried out the evacuation of the Sra refuse dump as part of its ongoing efforts to improve environmental sanitation and protect public health within the municipality.

The exercise was undertaken to clear accumulated waste, reduce the risk of disease outbreaks, and address environmental concerns raised by residents. Heavy-duty equipment and sanitation personnel were deployed to remove and transport the waste to an approved disposal site.

The Municipal Assembly, under the leadership of Hon. Francis Addo Akumatey, reaffirmed its commitment to maintaining clean and healthy communities and urged residents to refrain from indiscriminate waste disposal. The Assembly also called on all stakeholders to support proper waste management practices to prevent the recurrence of illegal dumping.

The successful evacuation marks a significant step toward creating a cleaner, healthier, and more sustainable Yilo Krobo Municipality.
