DONATION OF ASSISTIVE DEVICES TO PERSONS WITH DISABILITIES
The Eastern Regional Peace Council, along with the Yilo Krobo Municipal Assembly, celebrated International Women’s Day of Peace and Disarmament on 28th May 2026.
During the event, the guest speaker, Madam Gloria Kumawu, Deputy Clerk of Parliament, promised to help Persons with Disabilities (PWDs) who were present by providing assistive devices. To keep this promise, she donated ten pairs of crutches to the Assembly for distribution to PWDs in need.
The presentation took place on Thursday, 18th June 2026, at the Assembly premises. It was made by the Chairman of the Eastern Regional Peace Council, Professor Mark Boadu, who was accompanied by two members of the Council.
The donation was received on behalf of the Assembly by the Municipal Chief Executive (MCE), the Municipal Coordinating Director (MCD),the head of Social Welfare and Community Development Department and the Secretary of the PWDs Association, Madam Vida Awaitey. The Assembly thanked Madam Gloria Kumawu and the Eastern Regional Peace Council for their support and commitment to bettering the lives of Persons with Disabilities in the municipality.
