YKMA ORGANIZES A CLEAN-UP EXERCISE IN SOMANYA

To promote environmental cleanliness,prevent sanitation-related diseases, and improve public health outcomes which align with the Government’s National Sanitation Day initiative,on Saturday, 7th March, 2026, the Yilo Krobo Municipal Assembly, led by the Municipal Chief Executive(MCE), Hon. Francis Addo Akumatey, the Municipal Co-ordinating Director, Mr. Abdul-Hussein A. Rasheed, stakeholders, and the Environmental Health Department organized a clean-up exercise from Djaba road junction to Akweteman.
The exercise led to desilting choked gutters, and clearing bushes. Also, the Assembly made DRIP machines available which cleared heaped refuse at stadium(Akweteman).
Hon. Akumatey expressed his heartfelt gratitude to the Assembly Memebers for the massive turnout of their community members. He also commended the residents for their sacrifice to ensure that their communities are free from filth. He emphasized that sanitation is a shared responsibility and called on all households in Yilo Krobo Municipality to keep up the momentum to ensure a clean a healthy municipality.
