Some were also of the view that she appeared to be soft at the vetting perhaps due to tension and can only hope that when she gets to the office, she would be firm on the job.
Speaking to Hon. Jones Numo, a former government appointee to the Yilo Krobo Municipal Assembly and also a former chairman of the F&A committee, he was not only glad about Mrs. Rita Akosua Adjei Awatey’s appointment but believed in her competence to deliver. He made the point that apart from one Korboe (male) from Yilo Krobo who became a Regional Minister under the else while Kwame Nkrumah’s administration, this was the first time a woman from Yilo Krobo has been appointed Eastern Regional Minister even though some women had occupied the said position before from other districts.
Hon. Jones Numo who is also in the race of the Municipal Chief Executive (MCE) position in the President John Dramani Mahama’s admiration for the Yilo Krobo Assembly (yet to be determined) stressed, that Hon. Rita Akosua Adjei Awatey being a former Presiding Member (PM) of the Yilo Krobo Municipal Assembly would be helpful in chatting the course of development of Yilo Krobo, and hopeful that any of the candidates who emerged MCE should be able to collaborate with her for the development of the Yilo Krobo Municipality.
